GTA UA Member Companies Win Awards at the Ukrainian-Estonian AI/GovTech Hackathon

Teams from GovTech Alliance of Ukraine member companies Strimco and AMEDIA won awards at the Ukrainian-Estonian AI/GovTech Hackathon, which took place in Kyiv on June 16-18, 2026 and brought together 17 teams from Ukraine and Estonia.

The hackathon served as a collaborative platform for developers, GovTech teams, AI experts, and public sector representatives to address five real-world digital transformation challenges. Participants developed solutions related to public registries, procurement, child protection, cybersecurity, and business–government interaction.

The Strimco team worked on the challenge “AI-Indicator of Procurement Documentation Quality.” Their project, TenderDog, is an AI-powered tool designed to analyse tender documentation and identify potential risks and shortcomings. The team included Yurii Makukha, Dmytro Bilan, Lana Reutska, Olena Bondarenko (Strimco), Maryna Moiseieva, and Priit Oja, a business analyst and QA specialist from Estonia.

The project team included Maksym Vereshchak and Artem Kostiuk (AMEDIA), Tom Kristian Abel, an ethical hacker from Estonia, and team advisor Artem Iehorov (AMEDIA).

The hackathon results once again demonstrate the strong expertise of Ukrainian GovTech companies in addressing complex public sector challenges. The teams showed not only a deep understanding of public administration processes, but also the ability to rapidly apply advanced technologies, particularly AI, to develop practical solutions with the potential for implementation in the public sector.

An important aspect of the hackathon was the collaboration between Ukrainian and Estonian experts. Working in joint teams with representatives from Estonia, one of the world’s leading digital societies, encouraged knowledge exchange, strengthened professional networks, and contributed to the international integration of the Ukrainian GovTech ecosystem.

For GTA UA, these results confirm that Ukrainian GovTech companies are not only experienced providers of digital solutions for government, but also a source of innovation and practical expertise that is relevant both in Ukraine and internationally.

The AI/GovTech Hackathon was organised by CIVITTA and the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV), with financial support from the Estonian Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs and in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and GGTC Kyiv.

The event was held with the information support of the GovTech Alliance of Ukraine (GTA UA) and 1991.
