Kitsoft Modernised Ukraine’s Sustainable Development Goals Monitoring Platform
Kitsoft has modernized Ukraine’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Monitoring Platform, administered by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
This is more than just a statistics portal. The platform provides open access to data on key developments across the country, covering areas such as the economy, healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, gender equality, and other sustainable development indicators. It serves as a valuable resource for government institutions, international partners, researchers, and the public, enabling evidence-based decision-making through access to reliable and up-to-date data.
The modernization marks an important step in adapting Ukraine’s SDG monitoring system to the realities of war and the country’s future recovery. The upgraded platform makes data more accessible and provides users with improved analytical tools and a more intuitive experience.
The project was implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and funded by the Government of Japan. Expert support was provided within the framework of the Diia Support Project, implemented by UNDP with funding from the Government of Sweden.
Supporting Data-Driven Recovery and Development
The SDG Monitoring Platform is the official source of open data on Ukraine’s progress toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The platform enables government agencies, international organizations, donors, and experts to assess progress, identify development priorities, and shape informed decisions for the country’s recovery and long-term development.
Administered by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the platform ensures transparent access to official indicators and helps stakeholders monitor changes based on verified data rather than assumptions.
Improved Navigation, Accessibility, and Data Experience
As part of the modernization, Kitsoft upgraded the platform to the latest version, enhanced its structure, and introduced new functionality to support updated SDG indicators.
One of the key improvements is a redesigned navigation system. Users can now simultaneously access both previous and updated indicators for each Sustainable Development Goal, making it easier to compare data, analyze changes, and track the evolution of Ukraine’s SDG monitoring framework.
The upgrade significantly improves the platform’s usability for government institutions, international organizations, analysts, and researchers who rely on SDG data to evaluate the country’s development and plan future recovery efforts.
In addition, the Kitsoft team:
- improved the platform’s UI/UX;
- upgraded the system to the latest version;
- enhanced information search capabilities;
- implemented a unified accessibility-compliant version;
- migrated historical data;
- added new indicators in line with legislative updates;
- updated content, page structures, and links according to the requirements of the State Statistics Service;
- improved data visualization and presentation across the platform.
During the modernization process, historical data from the previous monitoring system was preserved, allowing users to track long-term trends and compare indicators over time.
