GTA UA CEO Joined Public Council Meeting with the New Leadership of the Ministry of Digital Transformation

On 31 August, Kateryna Stavniichuk, CEO of the GovTech Alliance of Ukraine, took part in a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine with the Ministry’s new leadership – Minister Oksana Ferchuk and her deputies.

During the meeting, the Ministry’s team presented its updated strategic priorities. Ukraine’s overall digital transformation course remains consistent, while several areas are set to be further strengthened and developed.

Strategic Priorities for Digital Transformation

The key areas presented by the Ministry’s team include:

  • resilience of the digital ecosystem and infrastructure development;
  • development of a digital environment for technology businesses and support for innovation;
  • further development of digital public services;
  • development of AI as a new layer of state infrastructure;
  • support for innovations that strengthen Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

The discussion also covered open data, cooperation with operators, engagement with local communities, and other areas included in the Ministry’s priorities.

The Role of GovTech Businesses in Advancing Digital Priorities

GTA UA continues to support the Ministry of Digital Transformation in advancing Ukraine’s digital priorities. In particular, the Alliance implements joint initiatives with CDTO Campus and the Global Government Technology Centre Kyiv aimed at strengthening the capacity of Ukraine’s GovTech ecosystem and developing its professional community.

Further work is also planned to establish clear and predictable rules for the sector, including the development of standard document templates for the software development lifecycle (SDLC) within the Digital Competence Centre.

For Ukraine’s GovTech ecosystem to develop, technology businesses need a clear understanding of the government’s strategic needs, while their practical and product expertise should be systematically engaged by public institutions when digital initiatives are designed and implemented.

GTA UA’s participation in the Public Council provides an additional platform for representing the GovTech business community in dialogue with the government and discussing the conditions needed for the further development of Ukraine’s digital government and GovTech ecosystem.
